Memorial Day Weekend

For Memorial Day weekend, we took a break from work and church callings and went down to Gunnison. We packed up Thursday night and headed down. On Friday, my dad and Chris did their dedicated hunter hours while my mom, Kelli and I got food and the camping gear ready. When my dad and Chris got back, we loaded the truck and headed up the mountains. Kelli was so excited to see her cousins. She played and played with them all day Friday. By the time we started heading up the mountains, she was out. It was a good thing because we were able to set up the whole camp while she slept. Here she is taking a snooze in our tent.

That night, Kelli and her cousins had a blast. Look at what cute little girls they are.

We enjoyed an incredible meal of tin foil dinners. They were the best tin foil dinners I have ever had. They cooked perfectly and they tasted so good. We also roasted marshmallows and made smores which is one of my favorite things to do.

After wards, we headed over to a lake that was close by our camping spot and fly fished a little. Chris caught several fish and had the girls reel in the fish. They had a blast.

The next day, we made an awesome breakfast which consisted of french toast, eggs, bacon and hot chocolate. Then we headed back to the lake and did some more fly fishing. For some reason, fly fishing worked the best which was a good thing, because fly fishing is my favorite kind of fishing.

The weather was great this year. That was the one thing that worried us the most especially with how the weather has been lately and because last year it rained the whole time. It was a great trip and wonderful to see family and hang out with everyone.

Glider and Ottoman

I have been excited about a new glider rocker and ottoman I got. It was on ksl classifieds and I got it for $50. The ottoman had some stains on the fabric and the foam in it was losing its fluffiness. So I took the fabric off and replaced the foam. I washed the fabric in the washing machine. It came out completely clean. Then I put the fabric back on and now the ottoman looks brand new. The glider is in great condition. It glides smoothly and the wood is really nice. Chris and I tightened up some loose screws on the glider and now the whole thing is like brand new. Here is a picture. I think it will work out great!

I feel like we have to start all over again with this baby, because a lot of the stuff we had when Kelli was a baby, we borrowed or it was old and not something I wanted to keep, like our last glider and ottoman. Kelli's crib was recalled, so that is another thing we are looking into getting, but it is fun to look and find good deals.

My Little Sunbeam

I think that one of the greatest things about being a mom is seeing your child go up on the stand on Mother's Day and sing Mother's Day songs. It was the cutest thing. When it was time for the primary to go up on the stand and sing, Kelli went right up. She stopped once and looked back at me to make sure she was doing the right thing, then she walked right up there and sang and came right back down when she was done. Such a big girl. I can't believe how fast they grow up.

So Excited!

I am so excited, I just had to share this bit of news. It really isn't all that great to those of you who are reading, but to me, I am just bursting with joy! Last week, I went to my doctor's appointment. I had to take the glucose test. I was not looking forward to this, because when I was pregnant with Kelli, I had to go back to do the 3 hour test. Then it turned out that I was borderline gestational diabetes. This has been one of my biggest concerns throughout this pregnancy. I just made the phone call to my doctor's office and my test results came back great! I am so excited about it. Also, tomorrow, I am 28 weeks along, so that means I start my 3rd trimester. I can't believe how fast time flies. Before I know it, I am going to be a mother of 2. It's crazy to think about, but exciting at the same time.
