This piano was my grandma's when my mom was a little girl. My grandma gave it to my mom probably before I was born. Just last month, I inherited it. My dad loaded it into his truck with some help from some strong men and brought it up to my house. Then he unloaded it with some help from some more strong men which included my husband, brother and brother-in-law. What a ton of work. This piano is a beast, but I love it in my home. It is great being able to play the piano again even though I am not very good. Kelli sure loves it too. This month has been especially fun because I have been able to play Christmas songs.
That's so fun!! I inherited my mom's too but for the time being it's at Lisa's house. When we get into a house we'll move it. And yes, they are a beast to move. SO heavy!!
ReplyDeleteWhen we moved into the home we are renting, the land-lady had a piano in her garage she was going to take to the dump! I told her there was no way a piano belonged at the dump. It is a great piano, a little worn around the edges, but sounds great! Isn't free stuff, especially family keepsakes, the best!
ReplyDeleteWONDERFUL! I am glad you get to enjoy it. It is the best way for me to get in a mommy break, I think. The kids think I am playing it for them to dance, but I am really playing it to feel like me and not just their mom.
